History
There are many hotels and Parsi bungalows in the area. Old British colonial architecture is preserved in Matheran Which gives an old-world charm, when there were no vehicles, the roads are made of red laterite earth.
Location
Matheran is one of the smallest hill stations in the west Indian state of Maharashtra & it is located in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of around 800m (2,625 feet) above sea level.
Climate
Lying in an elevated region, it has a cooler and dryer climate relative to its surroundings, which makes it popular during the summer months. Temperatures range from 32°C (90°F) to 16°C (61°F).

" Right from the moment, one enters the hotel gates to the reception the passengers are welcomed with a smile. Very courteous & soft-spoken staff. Due to the pandemic, good care has been taken with regards to social distancing & sanitization. Each member of the staff ensures to wear a mask. Each passenger is asked to sanitize at the gate itself. The rooms are sanitized thoroughly before the passenger checks in. The staff ensures to clean the rooms & change bedsheets & towels on a daily basis. Food & Hospitality is excellent. Have been a longstanding customer of the hotel since childhood mainly due to Food & Hospitality. "
